(HD Video) Man Utd 2-0 Aston Villa | All Goals & Extended Highlights

Sunday’s trip to Villa Park is the first game in a doubleheader against the Birmingham outfit as they will also meet on Thursday in the Carabao Cup. Those two games have become significantly tougher, too, as Villa have looked to arrest their poor start by sacking manager Steven Gerrard and hiring Unai Emery.

United know Emery well as he was in charge of Villarreal when they defeated them in the Europa League final in 2021. The two sides met twice in last year’s Champions League group stage too, with both games being difficult affairs that United only scraped wins from with late goals.

If those recent meetings with Emery are anything to go by then facing Villa twice in five days doesn’t look like fun and Dalot wants his teammates to be ready. “Not difficult but different,” he told Sky Sports when asked what impact Villa’s managerial change will have on United.

“I think it’s always a strange situation when you change managers. I’m sure that they will want to show to their new manager that they want to play, every player wants to play, it’s going to be probably different then it would be if the manager would have stayed because you don’t know how they can play.

“Maybe they will change the way of play, I don’t know, but basically we have to focus on what we need to do and be prepared for any kind of challenge that Villa can give us. I’m sure it will be a tough afternoon but we have everything and if we’re at our best level I think we have good chances to win.”
